Type A, Type B & Type C waterproofing system
Waterproofing can be broadly classified into three types: Type A, Type B, and Type C. Type A, also known as barrier protection, involves the application of a waterproof membrane or coating to prevent water from penetrating the structure. Type B, also known as structurally integral protection, involves the integration of waterproofing into the structure itself, such as by using concrete with waterproofing additives. Type C, also known as drained protection, involves the use of a drainage layer to direct water away from the structure. Different waterproofing materials and techniques are used for each type of waterproofing, depending on the specific needs of the structure and the environment it is in.
